Please be aware that though this page is dedicated to the one and only Steven Wilson, IT IS NOT ACTUALLY HIM, and neither is it endorsed by him in any way.

That being said, this blog is, at least to the extent of my knowledge, the only one (or at least the first) on Tumblr which looks solely at this man and his impressive list of achievements: not only personal projects, but also his associations with numerous other artists and his ventures into the world of film. Whether you simply love Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson, or just have a soft spot for amazingly talented, heaps sexy British Gods, then this is the place for you.

So who is Steven Wilson? Well only one of the most talented, ambitious, and hard-to-define musicians of our generation; possibly ever. Anything this man touches turns to gold, and his rapidly growing, cult-like fan base is more than deserved. But if that’s not in depth enough for you, I’ll use my copy-pasting skills to provide just a short background of where he came from and where he's been.

Steven Wilson (born Steven John Wilson on November 3, 1967 in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England) is a self-taught guitarist, producer, audio engineer, bass guitar and keyboard player (among other musical instruments). He is perhaps best known as the lead guitarist/singer and songwriter for progressive rock band Porcupine Tree, but his projects are numerous, including collaborations with Israeli superstar Aviv Geffen, Blackfield, long-running partnership with Tim Bowness, No-Man, also teaming up with Dirk Serries , Continuum, as well as his own solo projects Bass Communion and Incredible Expanding Mindfuck, and the recently released Insurgentes album under his own name. In addition to his prolific musical output, he has also undertaken production work, with such high profile artists as Opeth, Marillion, Fish, and friend Robert Fripp. Wilson is known for the high production quality of his music, employing synthesisers and programmed music along with live instruments to create a unique atmosphere for each song he works on, including otherwise-simple pop tunes.
